La Unica
La Unica cigars have been offered by J.C. Newman Cigar Company since 1986. These cigars have a unique history behind them. Prior to it’
s conception, Stanford Newman challenged Carlos Fuente, Sr. to create something that had never been done before. He wanted to make a
cigar that was rich, powerful, flavorful and delicious, but to be packed in an inexpensive cellophaned bundle. Prior to this idea, the only
cigars that were offered in bundles, were factory seconds. It was unheard of at the time to put high quality, premium, cigars in a bundle in
order to save the customer some money. La Unica were these cigars, and as Carlos Fuente, Sr. selected the sizes, Stanford Newman
approved the blend and they were on their way.
La Unica cigars are made up of a combination of specially aged Cuban-seed Dominican long filler tobacco, as well as either a creamy, mild
Connecticut wrapper, or a rich Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. In a mere six months after it’s introduction, La Unica cigars
became the number one selling premium bundled cigar in America. Although the current La Unica cigar features the same blend and
construction, it is no longer bundled, but instead presented in custom cedar cabinets of twenty. J.C. Newman Cigar Company has made
sure that the price has stayed true to their original vision, and our customers will certainly validate this. Cigar Aficionado has rated La
Unica an “outstanding” cigar, by giving it an 90. Although unflavored, a La Unica cigar starts out with hints of sweetness, and fruit, and
the complexity of this cigar unravels with every puff. La Unica cigars have a nutty, creamy flavor that is satisfying for an everyday smoke,
